8/10/2018 Topic: Auto Kerning and Visual Kerning Tajima Software Administrator	Kerning is always a hot topic of conversation among expert digitizers. For the beginner, kerning refers to the spacing between pairs of letters. Due to each character having different width dimensions, the spacing between certain pairs of letters needs to be adjusted in order to get the proper look. A go-to example for this is to look at the spacing between the names Tim and Tom. You can see in the example above that “Tim” looks correct whereas “Tom” looks like the spacing is too far apart between the “T” and the “o”. The edges of the characters are spaced the same in both cases, but auto kerning would correct this issue by bringing the “T” and the “o” closer together. When you’re purchasing embroidery software or new fonts, it’s important to ask if the fonts are optimized with auto kerning. New software also comes with an option called Visual Kerning. This tool allows users to make edits to kerning pairs for each and every font in their software. This is now a drag and drop tool which makes the formerly tedious process very simple. Even novice digitizers can take advantage of this tool to personalize how each font appears in their software. Kerning may seem like a small part of digitizing but it makes all of the difference in the finished product.
8/20/2018 Topic: Which computer is best Tajima Software Administrator	Hello lucym, The recommended system requirements for Tajima DG16 by Pulse is as follows: • PC with a 64-bit 3.0 GHz (or faster) Quad Core Genuine Intel processor • Microsoft® Windows® 7, Windows® 8 or Windows® 10 operating system (64-bit). • 8 GB of RAM • 4 GB hard disk drive space • Mouse • At least one USB port (to attach the security device) • A LAN (Local Area Network) connection We recommend that you use a Windows 10 (64-bit) computer for increased speed, but it is not required. Increasing the RAM and using a SSD will increase performance/speed as well.

We suggest contacting your local Pulse distributor for more information on their pricing for existing users. If you would like to upload multiple designs to PulseCloud at one time, you can do so by logging in and clicking on the Upload button. Click the Choose Files button, and then find the folder that contains your designs. You can Shift+click to select more than one design at a time. If you are uploading a large number of designs, it may be best to break up the upload into several smaller groups if possible.

It sounds like it may be a networking issue, but more information is needed to figure out the cause. Have you contacted your local Pulse distributor to ask about this issue? They should be able to help out with that very inconvenient issue. We recommend contacting them ASAP so that you can continue running at full production capacity again soon.
