Feature Request: Center in the Hoop Function
MDM GWI
|
Hello, We operate an embroidery studio in Brooklyn and have been loyal Tajima users for many years. As part of our pursuit of a fully networked production environment and barcode-driven workflow, we recently transitioned from Wilcom to Pulse and have begun adopting it as our primary embroidery digitizing software. While Pulse offers many advanced features that are superior to Wilcom, there are also several fundamental workflow tools that are surprisingly absent. Most of these seem like relatively simple additions that could significantly improve the user experience. Feature Request #1 – “Center in Hoop” Button The most noticeable omission is the lack of a dedicated “Center in Hoop” button. It was very disappointing to discover that Pulse DG16/DG17 does not include a simple command that centers a design to X:0, Y:0, placing it directly in the center of the hoop. I have heard many Pulse users explain that the machine will automatically center the design regardless of where it is positioned in the software, and that hoops are loaded relative to the machine’s origin point. While that may be true from a machine operation standpoint, it completely overlooks an important part of the production workflow. At our company, we do not run a single project without creating detailed embroidery tech packs that are stored in a centralized database. When generating PDFs for production approval, training, or operator reference, it is critical that the design is visually centered within the displayed hoop. Because Pulse lacks a “Center in Hoop” function, our team is forced to manually snap every design to 0,0 coordinates before generating documentation. This adds unnecessary steps to a task that should be completed with a single click. The absence of this feature becomes even more noticeable when using Tajima Writer Plus and Autograph workflows. We also provide large-scale live embroidery activations where we deploy 4, 6, or even 8 Tajima SAI machines on-site. Each machine is paired with its own computer, allowing operators to customize guest artwork and send designs directly to production. Virtually every operator on our team has provided the same feedback: It is difficult to understand why Pulse includes functions such as: • Maximize Artwork in Hoop • 1:1 View in Hoop but does not include a simple: • Center Artwork in Hoop button. This has been a standard and fundamental feature in embroidery software for many years and was an important part of our workflow throughout the last seven years. From a production standpoint, documentation standpoint, and operator training standpoint, a one-click “Center in Hoop” function would provide substantial value while requiring what appears to be a relatively minor software enhancement. Has this feature been considered for future releases? If not, could the development team evaluate adding it to the roadmap? Thank you for your time and consideration. edited by MDM GWI on 10/11/2026 edited by MDM GWI on 10/11/2026 |

Feature request: modern Save/Open dialog in DG 17
MDM GWI
|
We use DG 17 every day for production at General Wear Inc., and we’d like to request an improvement to how files are saved and opened. Current behavior When saving a file, DG 17 shows an older style save window. It has two problems: No direct access to Favorites or Quick Access. We have to click through several folders every time to reach the locations we use most. No search. Our project folders hold hundreds of design files. Without a search box we have to scroll through all of them by eye to find the right one, which is slow and easy to get wrong. Requested change Please switch DG 17 to the standard modern Windows file dialog for Save, Save As and Open. That would give us: Favorites and Quick Access pinned folders, one click away A search box to filter files by name Recent locations and the usual navigation pane We’d expect this to be standard in current software, and it would save us real time on every job. Impact We save and open files many times a day, and the extra clicks and manual scrolling add up quickly across our production week. Thank you for considering this. We’re happy to give more detail or test a beta build. M.D.M. GENERAL WEAR INC. hello@generalwearinc.com edited by MDM GWI on 10/11/2026 |

Feature request: Distribute objects evenly using t

We’d like to request a Distribute tool for spacing objects evenly in DG 17. Current behavior When we place 3 or more objects (names, numbers, logos, repeated designs), we have to space each one by hand. It’s slow, and the spacing is rarely perfect. Requested change Add a Distribute command that works when 3 or more objects are selected: The user picks a direction: Left to Right (horizontal) or Top to Bottom (vertical). DG 17 sorts the selected objects by position in that direction. It measures the gap between the first and second object. It places every object after the second at that same gap, one after another. This lets us set the spacing once, using the first two objects, and have the rest follow it exactly. Nice to have A choice between edge to edge spacing and center to center spacing The standard distribute mode as well, where the first and last objects stay in place and the space between is divided evenly A numeric field for typing an exact gap Why it matters This saves real time on layouts with repeated elements and keeps every design consistent and organized. It would make working in DG 17 much more pleasant. Thank you for considering this.
