Unable to format disk in Creator 1401

DGML help - tells me of this option... You can also format machine disks using the I/O Wizard. Choose File—Embroidery Disk—Format
BUT.. when I go to file, embroidery disks, format ... format is not a highlighted option.
How do I activate that option?

Hello,
We recommend formatting from within the Input Output Wizard at this time.
To do so, you can choose File -> Embroidery Disk -> Write and select the Format option here.

FORMAT is in the box as an option, but it is not a highlighted (available) option. When I put my curser on it it does not work. How do I activate that option?

If this option does not appear as an option you can select, please contact your distributor for support. They will be able to assist you further with this issue.

Can it be because Floppy Disk Drive does not exist in your computer? I am using a notebook without an FDD, and I also see that "formatting" is not highlighted in my software either.
