Hi

You still need to place additional nodes when digitizing, or adjust the handles of existing ones, which indeed takes quite a lot of time.
Select the Pen tool (S) and switch it to Quickdraw mode by pressing the shortcut Q. A wavy line will appear next to your cursor. Now, when digitizing: the Left mouse button creates a sharp corner, and the Right mouse button creates a curved line. Place the first node where there’s a sharp corner by clicking the left mouse button, then move to the middle of a curved part of the shape and click the right mouse button to create a curved node. Continue to the next sharp corner and click the left mouse button again, and so on. The longer the curved section of the shape, the more curved nodes (RMB clicks) you’ll need to add. When you finish the contour and want to close the segment, press the shortcut O.

In the screenshot I’m attaching, note the yellow line - I outlined this segment in 10 seconds using this method.

Hi All,

Wondering if there is a better way to redraw/pen around shapes and lettering when digitizing in DG15.
I keep coming to a goofy point in my contours that leave the handles in WACKY positions trying to follow around shapes.

I understand that adding the individual anchors (smaller increment) will keep the edges sharp, but it IS time consuming, as is the Stitch Column approach. I know you can just right-click around contours in Wilcom and the lines will hug the corners by cutting the difference between anchors.

Any help would be MUCH appreciated.
Thanks, Gang!
-BG

https://imgur.com/a/WAqRCdw
